In this informative session, Rod Russeau will share his story and the journey of his school district as they've navigated from the mainframe-only world of yesteryear to the intensity of a world now consumed with nonstop cybersecurity and data privacy challenges.
Many states have or will shortly have new laws requiring district IT leaders to significantly step up oversight of student data protections by district systems and by ed tech providers. Requirements for cyber security insurance and associated costs are also rapidly changing.

Rod will explore risk management fundamentals that work and essentials every district should consider when developing their information security and data privacy strategy. He will also discuss how a district leadership team's involvement in information security and data privacy is critical and provide actionable ideas for their engagement.
